September 24th, 2009 -- On September 22, Mohammad Othman was arrested by soldiers on the Allenby Bridge Crossing, the border from Jordan to Palestine. He is now being held in Huwara prison as a prisoner of conscience, arrested solely for his human rights work. Youth to mobilise in the north

July 27th, 2009 -- A conference, entitled “The Role of Youth in the Palestinian Popular Resistance Movement” saw lively and productive discussion from dozens of young activists from Tulkarm, Jenin, Nablus, Qalqilia, Jayyous, Tubas and Salfit. Youth gathered and discussed their role in grassroots resistance, BDS and normalisation, occupation, and the difficulties specific to the younger generations. Following the conference, it was decided that youth committees would be formed in seven areas in the north of the West Bank following a successful conference. [MORE]

July 13th, 2009 -- Repression allowed, resistance denied: Israel’s suppression of the popular movement against the Apartheid Annexation Wall, a joint report from Stop the Wall Campaign and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association examines Israel’s policies of arrest, detention and violent repression against Palestinian Popular Committees engaged in the struggle against the construction of Wall. Five years after the International Court of Justice’s landmark advisory opinion declaring the illegality of the Wall being constructed in the occupied Palestinian territory, the attention of those committed to the principles of international law should turn to the plight of those attempting to resist the Wall’s construction. April 7th, 2009 -- Friday saw the wrapping up of Land Day activities in the Bethlehem and Ramallah areas. This week villages joined together in protest, and one person shot with live ammunition. People gathered in Irtas to plant trees before joining the weekly Ma’sara demonstration. In Ni’lin and Bi’lin organizers finished out the week around Land Day with weekly protests against the Wall, and the youth of Jayyous also continued their weekly actions. [MORE]

March 29th, 2009 -- Large numbers of participants was a feature of this Friday’s actions, which were held in commemoration of Land Day. Protests against the Wall were held in the usual locations of Jayyous, Ni’lin, al-Ma’sra and Bi’lin. Hundreds turned out; some on the occasion of Mother’s Day and others in support of the American activist wounded the week prior in Ni’lin.
