Nabi Saleh: One wounded by a rubber bullet in the foot
Latest News, Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, March 27th, 2010
During this week’s Friday demo, youth from the village of Nabi Saleh, Ali al-Timimi, was injured with a rubber bullet in the foot and dozens suffered from breathing problems caused by heavy teargas. The weekly march started in the village of Nabi Saleh in protest against the confiscation of 4000 acres of land owned by the villagers for the Halamish settlement.
After the prayer people from the village, joined by international solidarity activists gathered to march through the streets of the village and headed towards the village lands threatened with confiscation.
Once the demonstrators came to the edge of the village, the occupation forces began firing tear gas on them, using Israel’s latest export product – a tear gas launcher that fires 30-40 tear gas grenades at a time.
