In order to annex the settlement blocs of what is called the “Ariel Finger” in northwest West Bank, more Palestinian lands have been seized through the path of the Apartheid Wall. Since August 2nd, Occupation bulldozers have uprooted 240 dunums and 300 olive trees in the villages of Kafr Thulth and Azzun, aiming to isolate1250 dunums behind the wall upon its completion.
The Apartheid Wall will isolate 46% of the total West Bank area, 2.1% (123 km2) to facilitate Occupation plans for the “Ariel Finger” settlement bloc alone. Its strategic path will cut 22km into the West Bank, tearing through Palestinian lands in Qalqiliya and Salfit districts to reach the borders of Nablus city. On the western side of the “finger”, near Ma`ale Shamron settlement, Occupation Forces are razing and destroying lands on a daily basis to complete the second phase of the Wall.
