Repression allowed, resistance denied
This fact sheet is a concise summary of the much longer report, Repression Allowed, Resistance Denied and explains the violent tactics used by Occupation forces against Palestinians who engage in protest against the Wall. This fact sheet covers in brief the main sections of the report, including the history of the popular resistance against the Wall, violent repression of anti-Wall protestors, arrests and detentions, and recommendations for action.
The Apartheid Wall (updated 2009)
The Apartheid Wall fact sheet provides basic information about the Wall, including location and costs as well as how the Wall is part of a network, which includes checkpoints, tunnels and settler roads. The fact sheet also explains the ghetto system and the position of the international community. It concludes with the repression of popular resistance to the Wall.
Companies building the Wall
This fact sheet provides information on the companies involved in the Wall, with the aim of assisting activists in launching BDS campaigns. We have focused on eight – either larger Israeli companies in which there may be considerable international investment as well as international firms that play a significant role in building, equipping and/or maintaining the Wall. The fact sheet also details the Norwegian divestment from Elbit and provides information on how to launch your own divestment campaign.
The Palestinian economy – Occupation, de-development and normalisation
This fact sheet gives a concise summary of Stop the Wall's economic analysis, within which we clarify how the dominant approach to investment and development in Palestine serves to strengthen the Wall, checkpoints and military closures, creating “sustainable” ghettos in the West Bank. Clarified are the roles of the PNA, the World Bank and DFID (and other international donors), along with three key development projects in Bethlehem, Jenin and the Jordan Valley that evidence the dangers inherent in this approach to development.
Boycott Elbit Systems!
Elbit Systems is one of the largest Israeli security and defense firms, specializing in military electronics, surveillance systems, UAVs and homeland security systems. The company provides both UAVs and other military technology for Occupation forces as well as security systems for the Wall and settlements. Elbit has major subsidiaries across the globe, and any BDS campaign against arms trade must take the company into account.
Los Angeles – Israel water cooperation
In 2008, a water cooperation agreement went into effect between the Los Angeles municipality, involving state educational institutions, and Israeli private and state-owned water enterprises. Such an agreement means that Los Angeles institutions are complicit with Israeli practices of water annexation and settlement, and we must ensure the agreements between the two become a target of awareness raising and concrete boycott action.
Ni'lin - A Struggle for Existence
This factsheet highlights the history and struggle of Ni’lin. The village is located in the West Bank, 26 KM to the west of Ramallah city. The village of Ni’lin has become a site of active struggle against the Apartheid Wall. Frequent protests and confrontations between villagers and Occupation soldiers are staged on the site where bulldozers are razing land to build the latest segment of the Wall.
