An open call for volunteer researchers and writers!
Worldwide Activism, Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, December 3rd, 2009
In 2005, over 170 Palestinian civil society organizations united behind a call to the world to impose Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) on Israel until it complies with international law. Now, the Palestinian BDS Campaign National Committee (BNC) is calling on YOU to write for the BDS campaign!
The BDS National Committee (BNC) is calling on volunteer researchers and writers to assist with researching and writing BDS statements, press releases and letters of support.
Volunteering with the BNC you can:
1. Research possible targets for the BDS campaign such as companies complicit in Israel’s regime of apartheid colonialism and occupation and research background information, economic or financial relations, etc., that can provide incriminating evidence of misconduct or violation of human rights/international law;
2. Draft letters of support for unions, organizations, parties adopting BDS (including doing background research);
3. Draft press releases in response to developments or announcing important events of the BDS Campaign.
In everything the BNC produces we maintain the highest standards of accuracy and corroboration. We have also consistently advocated a rights-based approach that rejects all forms of racism and relies entirely on international law and UN-recognized rights of the Palestinian people in advocacy and activism. It is no coincidence that in our four years of existence we have not met one serious challenge to our credibility or to the integrity of our research and statements based on it. We need your help to maintain these impeccable standards.
Your research and writing skills will ensure further success for the BDS movement. This is YOUR chance to support the campaign to end Israel's oppression of the Palestinian people.
To join the BNC volunteer team, please send a brief biography including any relevant political or activism experience to info@BDSmovement.net.
Please send any questions or comments to info@BDSmovement.net.
