The United Palestinian Call For Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions!
Worldwide Activism, The Grassroots Palestinian Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, July 7th, 2005

One year after the ICJ decision and the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign’s call to Isolate Apartheid Israel, the call for boycott divestment and sanctions has been strengthened by a unified call endorsed so far by over 170 Palestinian organizations from all over Palestine and the Diaspora.

This important step shows the growing unity and strong resolve among Palestinian civil society inside and outside their homeland that comprehensive measures against Israel are the way forward for international solidarity to effectively support the Palestinian liberation struggle.

It defines some of the basic elements on which solidarity action and networks are to be built and opens up the ground for an understanding of the root causes of the occupation, expulsion and colonization that Palestinian people have been resisting against since the beginning of the Zionist project.

Supported by the international community, this Zionist project led to the initial creation —and continual expansion—of something that has never been a typical colonial state, built through exploitation of local resources and labour: Israel as a ‘Jewish state’ is a specific project of apartheid aimed at the destruction and expulsion of the Palestinian people.

In front of the Apartheid Wall ghettoizing the Palestinian people and creating a slow but relentless third Nakbe, the Palestinian movements and organizations call upon the people of the world to isolate Israel and to engage in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for justice and liberation.

Within the last century, we have watched Apartheid South Africa and the Berlin Wall crumble. Palestine has yet to taste such liberation, as we continue to face and resist an intensifying system of apartheid and occupation whose horrendous features are aimed at the expulsion and extinction of our people.

It is time for effective solidarity guided and coordinated by the voice of the Palestinian liberation struggle and around the call for isolation of Apartheid Israel.
