Occupied Palestine – On the eve of the International Day of Solidarity with the People of Palestine, 52 international notables issued a statement calling for “urgent … international action towards a mandatory, comprehensive military embargo against Israel.” Though directly motivated by Israel’s latest war of aggression against the 1.6 million Palestinians in the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip, the statement is also a reaction to Israel’s decades-old military occupation and persistent denial of the UN-sanctioned rights of the Palestinia

Stop the Wall strongly supports and promotes the call for a mandatory, comprehensive military embargo issued by the BNC (Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee).

The urgency for an end to military relations with Israel and the defunding of its military and homeland security complex is evident to each of the activists struggling on the ground against the Wall and the settlements. The military oppresses popular struggle with:

The Medical Committee for Boycott of the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) has launched a new website. The site contains information, articles and analysis on the Occupation’s use of torture as well as the acceptance by Israeli doctors of this practice.

The boycott targets the IMA because it has consistently refused to condemn or issue advise doctors who are involved with torture. As an institution, the role of the IMA is to insure that international medical standards are met. By remaining silent, it is effectively condoning torture and ill-treatment of Palestinians.

Ariel Sharon is surrounded by a coterie of "advisors" who step in to develop, perfect and sell plans for the continued and inexorable dispossession of the Palestinians. What is surprising is that these advisors, the intellectual progenitors of continuing mass crimes, are an outspoken bunch; they don't shy away from revealing their latest fiendish plans or their true intent. There is no need for conspiracy theories; their intent and plans are out in the open.

There has yet to be an “official” map of the Wall’s entire path released by the Israeli military. The following map was the first to become available, on September 18th 2002, in a case filed by the Palestinian human rights group, LAW, to the Israeli courts regarding residents’ lands affected by the Wall in the villages Attil, Baqa ash Sharqiya, Deir al Ghusun, Nazlat ‘Isa, and Quffin. At this time, the route of the Wall was to extend for 115 km and did not include the effective annexation of the settlement Alfe Menashe, south of Qalqiliya.
