Ni’lin: Several cases of fainting as a result of asphyxiation from tear gas during the weekly demonstration



On Friday, the residents of Ni’lin launched their weekly demonstration after praying under village olive trees, marking their continued refusal to abandon their land.






***image2***Aboud village has been the site of increasingly large demonstrations since the local grassroots committee against the Wall declared every Friday a day of popular activities. On Friday the 25th of November, a demonstration of around 700 villagers revealed the unity and determination of Aboud to halt the Apartheid Wall project that will isolate 5830 dunums of the village’s land.




***image2***Saturday, November 6, some 2,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Las Palmas, Canary Islands (Spain) to protest against the Apartheid Wall that Israel is building in Palestine. The march was opened with a large Palestinian flag and a banner stating: “Hands Off Iraq and Palestine!!”.



The event, which marked the International Week against the Apartheid Wall and was a denunciation of Israeli Apartheid, was organized by the Plataforma por la Paz en Palestina in coordination with other organizations and significant political personalities in the Canary Islands.

***image2***Numerous activities marked the 2nd International Week against the Apartheid Wall in the UK, starting on November 6th, with a blockade of the Hayes, Middlesex premises of Agrexco Ltd., the largest Israeli exporter of fresh agricultural produce. 500 villagers demonstrated today in Qattana, northwest of Jerusalem, against the Apartheid Wall being built on their lands. The Demonstration began at 10:00am, with villagers heading to the area where Occupation forces were working. As soon as the demonstrators arrived Occupation soldiers began firing tear gas and rubber coated bullets in an attempt to disperse the crowd and silence their protest. 11 people were injured by bullets; as well many were overcome by the excessive amounts of gas used by Occupation forces.

Every day for the last few weeks Occupation forces have been working to clear the lands northwest of Jerusalem for the Apartheid Wall, and every day the villagers of Beit Duqqu, among many others have stood together on their lands trying to stop the senseless destruction.

As part of a mass mobilization throughout the Occupied West Bank and Gaza against the Apartheid Wall on the first day of hearings at the International Court of Justice, residents of Al Eizarya, Sawahre, and Abu Dis demonstrated in front of the Apartheid Wall in support of Palestine at The Hague.

As part of the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign’s week of activities against the Wall, beginning on November 9th, more than 1,000 people from the Tulkarem area demonstration against the Wall on Thursday the 13th. During this demonstration a main crowd marched from Tulkarem city towards the isolated village Baqa ash Sharqiyya where a similar crowd of demonstrators was marching to the Wall. These photos capture the march from “both sides” of the Wall and the Israeli assaults that followed.

In Ramallah on Nov 9th over 2,000 Palestinian shut down the city streets and central area, the Manara, to demand the destruction of the Wall as part of the national and international day against the Apartheid Wall. Participants included residents from the city and surrounding villages, representative from political parties, organizers and students. The following images are from the march and speaking event which followed.
