On Monday, 15/7/2013, dozens of Palestinians demonstrated in front of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Ramallah. The demonstration was a rejection of the normalization of dealing with Israelis and to demand the expulsion of the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Organization, Yasser Abed Rabbo.
 

On Monday, 15/7/2013, a wave of demonstrations swept across occupied Palestine in anger and condemnation of the Prawer Plan. The Prawer Plan, named after Ehud Prawer the former deputy chair of national security, aims to confiscate about 800,000 dunums of land in the Negev, displacing about 50,000 Palestinians and demolishing 35 Palestinian villages. A general Anger Strike was also called throughout many parts of the occupied Palestinian territories

  The Popular Resistance Campaign launched a series of events against the wall and settlements from the village of Betien, east of Ramallah. More than 150 people participated in the demonstration to reclaim land confiscated by the "Bethel" settlement

South African Officials Must Reject Israeli Blood Diamonds and Secure Jobs in Diamond Beneficiation

 

 South African civil society and organised labour call on South African officials to show leadership by demanding change to the shamefully discredited “Kimberley Process Certification Scheme” which facilitates trade in diamonds that fund gross human rights violations by rogue regimes, and by securing decent jobs for South Africans in diamond beneficiation.

Yanun is located south of Nablus. The Occupation has confiscated 80% of its 16,450 dunums. The people of Yanun are able to access 10% of their agricultural land through coordination and permits from the Occupation.

Salfit - On Sunday 2nd June the occupation forces notified villagers from Bruqin in Salfit that they must evacuate more than 100 dunams of land. The mayor of Bruqin, Nafid Barakat and resident Salah Amer are the owners of the land and Mr Barakat had just replanted the land 4 months before receiving the evacuation notice.

A group of settlers have also attacked citizens in their cars in the village of Yasuf, Salfit and closed the main street of the village.

Israeli forces accompanied by officers from the Civil Administration surrounded Khan al-Laban on the 20th May and began digging under the pretext of "archeological excavations". Khalid Daraghmeh, also known as Abu-Jamal, said that this is the second time within a week that the occupation forces have stormed Khan and started drilling operations.

Over the past couple of weeks, Palestinians living in the West Bank have witnessed a series of demolitions settler attacks, and land confiscations.

On May 29th, settlers uprooted 300 mature olive trees in the village of Awarta, south of Nablus. In another incident, settlers from Gelad set fire to land belonging to the village of Jib, west of Nablus, burning an estimated 20 dunums planted with olive trees and wheat.

Haaretz: “Israeli settlements in the West Bank legally expanded by nearly 8,000 dunams (1,977 acres) in 2012 - land equalling [an area]… twice as big as Manhattan's Central Park.”

On Monday Israeli bulldozers demolished a car showroom in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in the center of occupied Jerusalem. The owner of the car showroom told WAFA that the Israeli police informed him of the impending demolition at six in the morning, they then cordoned off the area and prevented anyone from approaching until the demolition was over. He also added that "the occupation said they demolished the showroom due to lack of a license".

14/05/13 A group of settlers set fire to agricultural land in the village of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, on Tuesday. There is a checkpoint at the entrance to the town and this, along with the efforts of the occupation army and settlers, prevented the villagers from putting out the fires

 13/05/2013 On Tuesday Israeli occupation forces handed over notices to demolish 14 houses in al-Auja, in the Jericho and the Jordan Valley area. This follows the demolition of three houses last weekend

Israeli forces suppress Nakba march and arrest coordinator of the Popular Campaign in Bethlehem

On Wednesday morning (24/4/13) Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by bulldozers and the so-called Civil Administration, demolished 3 houses under construction in the Ganieh region, northwest of al-Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron. When Hazem Abdel Fattah Al Jabri returned to his home the occupation forces had demolished a room 35m square  and a concrete wall 120m long and 2m high – costing him about two hundred thousand shekels.

 

On the 17th April Palestinians gathered in the occupied territories to commemorate the 39th Palestinian Prisoners’ Day. This day was first commemorated by the Palestinian National Council, under the authority of the PLO, in 1974. On this date the Palestinian prisoner, Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi, was released in the first exchange between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation.

Palestinian boycott activists are calling on the Netherlands’ Prince Willem to reconsider his decision to lend his name to a water project undertaken by the Jewish National Fund Netherlands in the Naqab/Negev desert in the south of present-day Israel. The project is in honor of the prince’s inauguration as king later this month.

Al-Ma’sara: Israeli occupation forces suppressed the weekly march against the separation wall in Ma’sara. The IOF intercepted the march and attacked demonstrators, beating them, preventing them from reaching the wall and injuring a number of them.

Beit Ummar: Three demonstrators were hit by rubber-coated metal bullets fired by the IOF at the entrance to the village of Beit Ummar and dozens of citizens suffered the effects of tear gas and smoke bombs.

On Thursday (11/4/13) Israeli settlers attacked a 60 year old man as he worked on his land near Ramallah. The settlers beat Ahmad al-Zir, who used to be a Palestinian judge, round the head with an iron rod until he lost consciousness and was taken to Ramallah Government Hospital.

Demonstrators from the BDS campaign in Brazil (boycotts, divestments and sanctions) showed their solidarity with Palestine last week when they staged protests at the LAAD Fair. The LAAD fair (The Latin American Aerospace and Defence Exhibition) took place at the RioCentro in Rio de Janeiro from the 9 – 12 April and had been dubbed by activists the "Fair of Death".

Settlers from the settlement of Beit Ayin, northwest of Beit Ummar in Hebron, cut and destroyed dozens of trees on the land of farmer Hamad Abdul Hamid Jaber, on Thursday morning. This sabotage left 55 grape vines, 1 quince tree and 45 olive trees destroyed. Two olive trees were more than 30 years old. The settlers also wrote slogans calling for a “price to be paid” and “death to the Arabs”. 

Beitillu Village:

Beitillu is a village located to the northwest of Ramallah, 19 km from the city. Beitillu is bordered to the east by Birzeit and the farm village, Almazra'a and to the west by the Green Line.  To the north it’s bordered by Nabi Saleh and to the south by Ras Karkar and Al-Janbeh.  Beitillu contains about 103 water springs.  

Last week the hacking group Anonymous launched a cyber-attack campaign dubbed #OpIsrael replacing Israeli homepage messages with anti-Israel slogans and causing massive disruption to government, academic and private sites. The attach reached its peak on Sunday with high-profile government systems such as the Foreign Ministry, the Bank of Jerusalem, the Israeli Occupation Ministry, the IOF blog and the Israeli President's official website all being hacked.
