Fighting against the ongoing suppression that the occupation practices against the weekly protests against the apartheid wall and settlements in the West Bank, Walid Barghouthi, a young man, was shot with a live bullet to his leg while participating in Al Nabi Saleh weekly protest, which heralded a large amount of blood before he was transferred to hospital for treatment.
Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers fired three live bullets towards him in order to assassinate him just as they did with Mustafa Tamimi two weeks ago.

Hebron district is located some 30 kilometers south to Jerusalem. The City of Hebron, the capital of the district is one of the biggest in the West Bank, as it has some 170,000 Palestinian inhabitants and some 400 settlers guarded by between 2,500 to 3,000 soldiers.

Hebron is fampuse, among other, for the quality of its kafyas. However, unfortunately it is also famouse for its Apartheid street.

Hebron, or Al-Khalil in Arabic, is the only city in the West Bank were settlers are in the center of the city, which has made of this place one with more tension in the area.

Since Israel's establishment in 1948, its occupation of Jerusalem in June 1967, and subsequent annexation of the city in 1980, it has implemented policies that have shrunk the size of Occupied Jerusalem's Palestinian population as well as its Arab and Islamic heritage. The ongoing light rail project is just the latest in this steady entrenchment of Israeli control.

Khalil lives with his 4 children and his wife in a small neighbourhood near the Etzion Settlement Block. Khalil is a farmer in the area, tending olive and fruit trees. For generations Khalil and his family have lived in this small neighbourhood where about 35 other people live. His home is humble. It is a two-room house. The washroom does not exist within his house but just outside his front gate there sits an outhouse. His walls and roof have been patched with tin and scrap wood. The oven for cooking is outside in the yard. His home has been unchanged since 1967.

A network of seventeen Palestinian human rights NGOs, including Stop the Wall, today launched a campaign to mobilize the international community to end the expulsion of Palestinians from Jerusalem by the Israeli occupation.

The Civic Coalition for Jerusalem is calling for a ‘blacklist’ of corporations supporting the occupation of Jerusalem, and is asking activists all over the world to research companies in their own countries to go on the list:
