Zaytoun2025: Harvesting under fire (second edition)

Documentation of Israel’s aggression against farmers and the agricultural sector from October 10-16, 2025

The agricultural sector in the occupied West Bank witnessed an escalation in Israeli violations during the olive harvest season. Occupation forces attacked farmers who tried to access their lands and continued to steal, bulldoze, and confiscate farmers’ lands.

Settler militias also escalated their brutal, violent, and organized attacks on farmers, attacking them while they were harvesting, assaulting them, damaging their vehicles and equipment, and stealing their olives, all under the protection and with the support of the occupation army.

Between 7 and 13 October, OCHA documented 71 Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians that resulted in casualties, property damage, or both. Half of them (36 attacks) were related to the ongoing olive harvest season, which officially began on 9 October, affecting Palestinians in 27 villages. Settlers attacked farmers and volunteers, stole crops and harvesting equipment, and vandalised olive trees, resulting in casualties, property damage, or both. In early October, OCHA already warned, echoing Palestinians words, that during the 2025 olive harvest season, over 60 communities mainly in Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, and Salfit governorates remain at high risk of settler attacks and restrictions while trying to access their agricultural land.

Since October 7, 2023, settler militias with the support of the occupation army have uprooted more than 48,728 trees – including 37,237 olive trees. Since the olive harvest started, 3,472 olive trees were destroyed in the governorates of Ramallah, Hebron, Tubas, Bethlehem, and Salfit, in addition to the confiscation of 70 dunams in the village of Raba, east of Jenin, and 25 dunams in Jayyous, Qalqilya.

These violations are part of a systematic policy targeting Palestinian land and farmers. The aim of this policy is to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their land.
