Free Palestine!
The Wall Must Fall!

On May 15th, Palestinian Nakba Day, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Britain is holding it’s annual rally in Trafalgar Square. The event, which is expected to be the years largest mass mobilization in the UK in solidarity with Palestine, will focuss entirely on the Apartheid Wall.

Jamal Juma’a, Director of the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign will be the rally’s guest speaker. He will explain the latest horrendous consequences of the Apartheid Wall, throughout the West Bank.

He will be joined by Afif Safieh, Palestinian delegate to the UK, Vanessa Redgrave, MPs  Jeremy Corbyn, Richard Burden and Jenny Tonge, Keith Sonnet representing the TUC, as well as representatives of Muslim Association of Britain, Jews for Justice for Palestinians, Just Peace UK and other organisations. UK Apache will also be performing at the rally.

At around 3.30pm, there will be a demonstration to Downing Street to call on the Prime Minister to put all possible pressure on the Israeli government to demolish the Wall and abide by international law.

Betty Hunter, general secretary of PSC, said: ‘The international community is horrified at the continued treatment of the Palestinians under the illegal Israeli occupation. US President George Bush’s support for Ariel Sharon’s policies is fuelling resentment in the Middle East. 56 years since the Nakba, the killing, dispossession and denial of basic human rights of the Palestinians continues.

‘The Apartheid Wall is creating bantustans in the West Bank, destroying the agriculture, economy, health and education facilities of the Palestinians. There can be no clearer illustration that the Israeli government is intent upon the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.’

The rally is organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Muslim Association of Britain and supported by UNISON, FBU, JustPeaceUK, Jews for Justice for Palestinians, Stop the War campaign, Trade Union Friends of Palestine, Pax Christi, the Association of Palestinian Communities and many others.
