Apartheid Wall featured On Middle East Radio Project

JaOn Wednesday 14th July, Johayna Marlow, of the Middle East Radio Project, spoke with Jamal Juma’ of PENGON (The Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network); he is Coordinator of the Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, as well as with Shariif Omar, President of the Committee against Land Confiscation. Shariif Omar is a farmer from Jayyus, whose 175 dunums of fertile land is now behind the wall which runs 10 yards from his home.

Shariif reported how Israel has stolen some 2,700 of his fruit trees and how he has lost some 95% of his income, while Jamal urges the International Community to stand behind the ICJ ruling and to condemn Israel’s oppression and apartheid.

In order to speak with Middle East Radio, Shariif Omar had to forego the possibility of being granted permission to pass through Apartheid Wall’s only gate to work on his land because the gate opens for just 15 minutes at certain times of day. Click on the link below to listen to this remarkable interview in which we hear Jamal Juma’, recent delegate to World Court in the Hague, urging “all people who love peace, who have a sense of humanity, that this is the time to end the tragedy of the Palestinian people.”
