Demonstrators in Oslo March in Support of the Palestinian Intifada!

***image2***On September 28, on the 4th anniversary of the Intifada, around 400 people gathered in front of the Parliament in Oslo to show their support for the Palestinian resistance to the Occupation and Israeli Apartheid. It is this date that marks four years of heightened Palestinian struggle against the continuous dispossession and racist and colonial Israeli policies of daily killings, destruction of lands and homes, as well as the construction of the Apartheid Wall.

The Norwegian Association of NGO’s for Palestine (www.palestina.no) organized the demonstration, along with Palestine Committee, the Union of Education, Oslo Labour Party, Socialist Party and Blitz. The demonstration took place from the Norwegian Parliament past the Israeli embassy. The protestors highlighted as well the close link between the resistance in Iraq and Palestine, carrying banners demanding:

STOP OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE AND IRAQ!
RELEASE POLITICAL PRISONERS!
TEAR DOWN THE WALL – REMOVE SETTLEMENTS!

Statements were given by Abla Eid Za’bout (Palestinian Working Women Society for
Development in Tulkarem), Ali Abunimah (Universitety of Chicago & founder of Electronic Intifada), Liv Gulbrandsen (RV), and Nils A. Roehne (Norwegian People’s Aid).
