Double disaster for Bethlehem family as the occupation destroys cousins’ homes

Occupation bulldozers have demolished two houses belonging to cousins in Al Uqban community, east Bethlehem, claiming that they do not have ‘planning permission’ from the Occupation.

Two years ago, after a long battle with the Occupation high court, the villagers received ‘planning permission’ for the houses that had already been built. The hill at the edge of the village was excluded from the plan, and all seven houses that have been built there are slated for slated for demolition.

The two houses destroyed today were located south of Al Uqban community, close to the settler road which connects Novo Dim settlement with Jerusalem and the Gush Etzion settlement bloc.

Al Uqban community is one of three communities under threat of demolition in Al Furdis area, east of Bethlehem.
