Protestors disrupt Barcelona – Israel basketball match

In Spain a dozen protestors disrupted the Barcelona – Maccabi (Tel Aviv) basketball game. During the game, a number of people waved Palestinian flags as well as balloons and banners reading “Boycott Israel” and “Stop the massacre in Gaza.” At the end of first quarter, several protestors jumped onto the court, halting the match before being tackled and dragged out by security.

There was a popular upsurge of anger during the destruction of Gaza, with mass mobilizations occurring throughout Europe. In Spain, hundreds of thousands demonstrated in more than a dozen cities across the country during the bombardment. A growing number of people and organizations are now actively working to further the international BDS movement, with various actions and campaigns springing up across Europe.
