Jawaher Abu Rahmah died on January 1 as a result of the tear gas she inhaled on December 31 during a protest against the Apartheid Wall that strangles her village Bilâin, stealing its lands and livelihood. She had seen her brother killed in a similar protest almost two years ago when Israeli military shot him with a tear gas grenade in the chest.
Activists around the world have organized for Jawaher, following a call from the Bil’in Popular Committee, Stop the Wall, and the General Union of Palestinian Women (GUPW). In honor of Jawaher and the struggle of Palestinian women, a commemoration will be held in Bil’in on the February 10, supported by the following global actions:
