Urgent call to attend Hasan Karajah’s court hearing, Thursday 14 in Jalameh prison!

Today the Israeli military court has extended the interrogation period of Hassan Karajah, the Stop the Wall youth coordinator that was taken from his home by Israeli military on January 23, for another four days. A new court hearing is scheduled for Thursday 14 at Jalameh prison.

We ask all international organizations, media and activists to come and attend the court hearing in order to show Hassan that he is not alone and to impress on the Israeli authorities that the world is watching their repression of Palestinian human rights defenders.

Hasan Karajah has been arrested from his home on January 23 and held for over two weeks without even being able to talk to his lawyer. This new arrest of a Stop the Wall staff member comes as part of the continued Israeli repression of Palestinian human rights defenders and of Stop the Wall in particular and is aimed to stop any opposition to the increasing Israeli settlement construction and forcible expulsion of Palestinian communities. Hassan is part of a new generation of active, creative and determined youth activists and their movement that galvanizes popular resistance. Hassan is only one of them – a symbol of a new generation of Palestinian resistance.

Stop the Wall therefore calls on all international organizations, activists and media professionals in Palestine to come as a witness in support of the right to freedom of expression and organization to Hassan Karajah’s court hearing on Thursday 14 at Jalameh prison.
