Collaboration of Humanitarian Aid Organizations

On August 8, The New Humanitarian (TNH) reported that international aid agencies held a secret collaboration meeting with GHF. TNH’s report pointed out the hypocrisy and seeming turnaround of officials representing organizations that had previously publicly denounced GHF and its operations. The fact that visa issues and staff registration have been discussed with GHF proved once more that GHF was nothing more than a paramilitary force for Israel’s genocidal efforts.
Ironically, on July 1, more than 200 NGOs called for immediate action to shut down GHF and end the deadly Israeli distribution scheme (including GHF) in Gaza. They demanded a return to the existing UN-led coordination mechanisms and an end to the Israeli government’s blockade on aid and commercial supplies.
The secret meeting was organized by the US ambassador to the UN, Dorthy Shea, and was attended by GHF executive chairman, Johnnie Moore, alongside several US diplomats (Jonathan Shrier, Morgan Ortagus, Ari Wisch, Bo Sim) and officials such as:
- Ally-Raza Qureshi – WFP
- Lucia Elmi – UNICEF
- Michele Sison – IOM
- Elyse Mosquini – ICRC
- Tom Hart – InterAction
Already at the end of June, we learned of ICRC reportedly having held various meetings with the current head of GHF, Johnnie Moore, during which both parties “found ways to collaborate meaningfully together.” In response to inquiries from Stop the Wall (STW), the President of the ICRC, Mirjana Spoljaric, tried to deny any relations stating that: “The exchanges you refer to in your letter took place in the United States of America before Rev. Johnnie Moore was appointed to GHF. As he was not yet in charge of GHF, the “collaboration” he speaks of could not apply to any ICRC coordination with GHF.” Yet, in light of this further meeting with GHF, ICRC clearly has been collaborating with GHF from the very inception.
The ICRC and the rest of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, have consistently refused to identify Israel as the perpetrator of any of the atrocities committed in Gaza – even when Israel has massacred their own volunteers.
Despite being American, GHF is a non-governmental organization. It was merely a concept, an organization that didn’t really exist. It was initially claimed to be independent, but it was a component of Safe Reach Solutions (SRS). The owners of Blackwater, an American private military contractor, and Constellis, which gave rise to UG Solutions and SRS, are also the owners of GHF. They have the same beliefs and are the same individuals.
