Construction of the Apartheid Wall in Abu Dis, located in the Jerusalem District, leaves the residents of these communities, as with so many others, very little to hope for in the coming year. While the Wall is not entirely “new” to the residents of Abu Dis, who have been living with it in another form for several months, towering slabs of concrete are now being erected to further ghettoize the community and strangle freedom of movement. These images, taken on December 26, 2003 in Abu Dis show the massive structure being used to imprison Palestinians, annexing valuable land, resources and hope in the process.
