An 800 Person Strong Demonstration against the Apartheid Wall in the Streets of Geneva!

***image2***Activists and entire families gathered in the streets of Geneva on the 13th of November, in a rally called for by the Collectif Urgence Palestine and supported by some 30 different political and social organizations.

Activists who have recently been to Palestine tried to explain the reality of the Apartheid Wall. “It is a daily hell. The Wall is a way to humiliate the Palestinian people. In this way Israel seizes fertile lands and natural resources.” The rally addressed the cause of 50 years of Palestinian resistance, Israeli Apartheid and Occupation, and its latest expression: the Apartheid Wall.

The demonstration was overshadowed by the death of Yasser Arafat, and participants paid homage to the former President of the PLO and a minute of silence.

Calling for the suspension of the Free Trade Agreement between Switzerland and Israel as well as any military collaboration between both governments, the demonstrators reminded the public and the Swiss Government of the decision issued by the International Court of Justice in July of this year calling for the dismantlement of the Apartheid Wall along with reminding all governments of their legal obligation to enforce International Law.
