Further arrests in Bil’in and Ni’lin

Occupation forces raided the villages of Bil’in and Ni’lin, arresting a resident from each village.

In Bil’in Mohammed al-Khatib, a member of the Bil’in Popular Committee, was taken from him his home early Thursday morning. At 1:30 AM, soldiers entered his home where they confiscated materials as a crowd gathered outside.

Occupation forces also invaded the village of Ni’lin, where they searched several homes before arresting a young man. As has been the case in Ni’lin, soldiers carried out the arrest operation around three in the morning.

In Ni’lin, a total of 19 people have been arrested in January. One has been released, and the rest remain jailed. 17 have been arrested since January 12, when the most recent campaign against the village began.

These arrests come only several days after a delegation of diplomats visited Ni’lin to hear testimony from residents arrested or shot by Occupation forces.
