Overall responsibilities:
Main focus:
The role of the international outreach coordinator is to promote the Land Defense Coalition and support the outreach of its member organizations. The international outreach coordinator is to develop strategies to effectively support the struggles on the ground in Palestine through international action and to develop and implement international campaigns for that purpose. The international outreach coordinator will build and strengthen relations and networking with international partners across the globe and represent the LDC (and where needed member organizations) in international forums and networks.
The international outreach coordinator will produce and oversee production of the relevant outreach material, including informational and promotional material and will oversee the online presence of the LDC and its member organizations (where needed).
Key objectives:
â Promote the LDC internationally
â Develop better understanding of the key objectives of the LDC
â Develop international ties for the LDC and member organizations
â Build effective, short term and long term outreach strategies
â Develop and implement specific campaigns to support the LDC’s objectives
Main tasks:
â Develop and maintain the online presence of the LDC in various languages (at least: English and Spanish) and produce online newsletters and relevant information brochures
â Create awareness about the struggles of the LDC among activists and decision makers
â Map existing and potential partners of the LDC and ways to strengthen cooperation
â Implement key campaigns (including BDS campaigns)
â Represent the LDC in international forums and networks
â Recruit and mobilize volunteers supporting the LDC on a daily basis and/or for special events;
â Promote the LDC in the media
Qualifications, skills and competences:
â Fluency in English and Spanish
â communication skills in Arabic desirable
â Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including an ability to manage workload and priorities independently, including when working to strict deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
â Excellent research and writing skills to produce well documented and engaging resources.
â At least 3 years if experience in civil society or social movement campaigning at different levels (grassroots and institutional lobbying)
â Understanding of the Palestinian cause in its historical development and current political set-up.
â Understanding of and commitment to the Land Defense Coalition and its working mechanisms
â Knowledge of existing solidarity efforts and the dynamics and mechanisms of global civil society networks
â Experience with interacting with decision makers at governmental level
â Experience with media outreach
