As the international community, the mainstream media and others debate over what to call Israelâs latest measure of oppression, control and land confiscation â is it a wall? a fence? or the ever-so-vague âbarrierâ? â the function of racist domination remains the same. The Apartheid Wall is confiscating more Palestinian land, impeding Palestinian access to their farms, schools, families, jobs, etc., dividing communities and illegally shifting disputed borders. These photos, taken in the Bethlehem and Qalqiliya Regions of the West Bank between April 2003 and November 2003 reveal that no matter what material the Wall is constructed from, the destruction, violation and function is clear – to imprison the Palestinian people, restricting their movement and ability to live, while perpetuating the racist and illegal Occupation.
