Groups across the globe have been downloading the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign posters for solidarity events, demonstrations, and community meetings within their own countries. The posters have been translated into Arabic and widely used for events in Palestine, particularly for National and International Day Against the Wall on Nov 9th. Now the posters are now available and downloadable on this site in Arabic!

Construction of the Apartheid Wall is advancing in areas throughout East Jerusalem including Abu Dis, Eizarya, Sheikh Sa’ad, Sawahre and Jabel Mukaber. While the Israeli Occupation has already confiscated massive amounts of land to build settlements in East Jerusalem, where some 250,000 settlers live and occupy land, the Wall now threatens to finalize the annexation of this and even more land to bring the Zionist vision of "Greater Jerusalem" to fruition. These photos, taken in and around Sawahre on January 2 expose the atrocity being imposed on Palestinian communities.

These photos, taken in the Abu Dis area in Jerusalem on January 2, 2004, clearly show the devastating way the Apartheid Wall is winding through Palestinian communities. Cutting incredibly close to people's homes, the Wall completely divides communities, isolating people from essential lands, commerce, family and friends. The Wall is serving to annex the most fertile land that will be used for settlement expansion, while forcing expulsion among Palestinian communities by making living conditions near impossible.

The Wall: Land Theft and Forced Expulsion

Construction of the Apartheid Wall in Abu Dis, located in the Jerusalem District, leaves the residents of these communities, as with so many others, very little to hope for in the coming year. While the Wall is not entirely "new" to the residents of Abu Dis, who have been living with it in another form for several months, towering slabs of concrete are now being erected to further ghettoize the community and strangle freedom of movement.
