Protest at Al Walaja for the Week Against the Apartheid Wall

Approximately 250 people marched from the village of Al Walaja to the Apartheid wall to mark the Week Against the Apartheid Wall. Men, women and children from the village were joined by international protesters in opposition to the Israel’s apartheid system and theft of land. The village will lose 97.4% of its farmland when the wall is finally built.

Jamal Juma, coordinator of Stop The Wall campaign said to the crowd that, “The only way to remove the wall, the settlements and the occupation is by resistance and protest . What we need to do is to establish a real popular resistance on the ground against Israeli occupation and its colonial project. This Al Walaja protest is part of the local and national week against apartheid and we are here today to highlight these places that are still resisting against the apartheid wall and we should continue the fight together.”
